Mextrek 2008

Adventure Ride

Oct 22 - 25, 2008

Galeana, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

(the Sierra Leon region)

The Sierra Madre mountains south of Monterrey, Mexico, (an area named the Sierra Leon region by intrepid explorer Milton Otto), are an amazing & fantastic dual sport adventure playground!  If you want an extra dose of adventure in your riding then don't miss this event.  The riding here is superb and rivals that in the Copper Canyon but is a whole lot closer for everyone west of New Mexico.  One trip to this area will have you wanting to return again and again.

2008 Texas Adventure Ride

April 24 - 27, 2008

Junction, TX

The Texas Adventure Rides is a 3 day adventure / dual sport ride & rally occurring annually the last weekend of April in Junction, TX.  All adventure / dual sport riders are invited to attend.

During this event you can discover the best paved and unpaved roads in the Texas hill country and west Texas.  You can ride the best dual sport road outside of Big Bend, cross the largest, scariest river in this neck of the woods, pay a visit to Judge Roy Bean's Jersey Lilly Saloon, or tour John Wayne's Alamo.  You can be one of the few who not only know where Pandale, TX is but to have also ridden through it.

Don't miss the 2008 Texas Adventure Ride.

The Ouachita Project

Dual Sport Adventure and Off-Road Riding the Ouachita National Forest

The Ouachita National Forest (Ouachita NF) encompasses 1.8 million acres in west central Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma.  An extensive system of ~6000 miles of paved & non-pave roads and ~120 miles of single track make the Ouachita NF a fantastic playground for dual sport and/or off-road adventure.

Unfortunately, good riding information about the various dual sport adventure or off-road riding opportunities available in the Ouachita NF is scarce. The purpose of the Ouachita Project is to gather all available information about dual sport and off-road riding in the Ouachita NF and to consolidate it into a single source of up-to-date, accurate riding information.

The assistance of the riding community is vital to fulfilling this goal.  All riders with information about the Ouachita NF are encouraged to participate in this project.

Uncle's Ride the Rio

Feb 21-24, 2008

Terlingua, TX

The riding in Big Bend may be the best in Texas.  From twisty paved roads, to scenic vistas, to the best dual sport road in Texas, the Big Bend region has something to offer every motorcyclist.

February is a great time to ride in Big Bend - the nights are cool but the days are generally warm & sunny.  In other words, when the rest of Texas is often cold & rainy it's a great time to ride in Big Bend.

This is not a dual sport specific event.

Uncle invites all motorcyclists to join him at his Ride the Rio "non-event" event and discover the wonder of Big Bend.
