Welcome to Texas AdventureDual Sport Adventure Riding
Texas Adventure is focused on promoting dual sport adventure motorcycling by organizing several motorcycling rallies each year, leading day rides in the Texas Hill Country, and offering other services to the dual sport adventure riding community . All riders, no matter if you ride a big adventure touring bike, a dual sport bike, or a "street legal dirt bike", are invited to participate in any of my events.

Mextrek 2008: Oct 22 - 25, 2008 Galeana, Nuevo Leon, Mexico Mextrek is an annual dual sport adventure ride held in an amazing dual sport playground, the Sierra Leon region of Mexico. The riding here has to be experienced to be believed. If you crave a "biggie size" dose of adventure or have always wanted to go adventure riding in Mexico, then Mextrek is just your ticket. You won't be disappointed.
Uncle's Ride the Rio: Feb 19 - 22, 2009 Terlingua, TX The Big Bend region is an amazing place especially when seen and explored from the seat of a motorcycle. If you've ever ridden there you already know this. If you haven't, you owe it to yourself to find out. Either way, Uncle invites you to join him every year in the middle of the winter in the middle of nowhere for his annual Big Bend motorcycle rally. This event is not dual sport specific and all motorcyclists are invited to attend.
2009 Texas Adventure Ride: April 2 - 5, 2009 Junction, TX The Texas Hill Country contains some of the finest paved and dual sport roads in all of Texas. This organized rally offers the dual sport adventure community an annual opportunity to explore those great roads. The Texas Adventure Ride is a 3 day dual sport adventure ride & rally occurring every April in Junction, TX. More information coming soon. |
The
Ouachita Project
Dual Sport Adventure and Off-Road Riding the Ouachita National Forest
The Ouachita National Forest (Ouachita NF) encompasses 1.8 million acres
in west central Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma. An extensive
system of ~6000 miles of paved & non-pave
roads and ~120 miles of single track make
the Ouachita NF a fantastic playground for dual sport and/or off-road
adventure.
Unfortunately, good riding information about the various dual sport
adventure or off-road riding opportunities available in the Ouachita NF is
scarce. The purpose of the Ouachita Project is to gather all available
information about dual sport and off-road riding in the Ouachita NF and to
consolidate it into a single source of up-to-date, accurate riding
information.
The assistance of the riding community is vital to fulfilling this goal.
All riders with information about the Ouachita NF are encouraged to
participate in this project.

Ever wonder just how tough or challenging a particular road is? Or try to figure out if a particular road is suitable for your bike and your skill level? The Motorcycle Non-Paved Road Rating System is designed to help you answer these questions. It is a formal system for rating the difficulty of non-paved roads and can help you determine if a road meets your skill level and the capabilities of your motorcycle.
